Homemade Facial Mask - Oatmeal and Honey
Homemade natural facials are our favorite at True You Cosmetics. One of our favorite facials is the oatmeal and honey facial. Oatmeal masks are great for exfoliation and relieving irrated skin. Likewise, it is really good for drying out and clearing up acne.
We have provided the ingrediants --which we may add are very similar to really high priced acne masks that are sold in stores, and way cheaper!
Ingredients include:
- 1/4 cup fine-ground oatmeal
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon honey
Directions:
- Using a small, but deep, microwave safe container cook the oats and water to make a thick porridge. (Microwave approx 2-3 mins on medium.)
- Cool to body temperature
- Stir in honey
- Apply to face and leave for 15 minutes. Rinse off with tepid water...

Q&A with Jessica
A: In every way. From the product production planning, going to
manufacturer labs, planning campaign shoots, etc. I do it all.
Q: “What is a typical planning period for True You and what’s your
favorite part?
A: Everyday is something new, and it's important to have everything
planned out. I make sure I plan atleast six months ahead so I can stay
sane. My favorite part is seeing the product come to life and creating
a story and them around debuted collections.
Q: “What were the steps that you took to get the business up and
running?”
A: Since True You was started in 2003, and was sold merely throughout my father's practice, a lot of key business steps had already been
achieved before I got on this project. To get True You the way I
envisioned it to be it takes a lot of reaching out different
manufacturing companies, getting the product formulated to perfection,
and strategic product planning. Building the brand and the story is
key.

Q&A with Jessica
implementing procedures etc?”
A: A huge part. My dad is a plastic surgeon so I got my entrepreneur
mindset from him. He really taught me how to be the leader I am today.
My mothers beauty and her use of makeup products always intrigued me
Q: “What inspired you to take part in your father’s cosmetic line?”
A: I knew that it would be a great idea to start a family business as well
as put both of our minds together. That's a pretty powerful thing. I
felt that the overall vision and brand of True You could be at another
level than it already was.
Q: “What drives you to execute such a large business move?”
A: I think big when i am executing in such a huge project. I just don't
believe in mediocracy.

Introducing True You Cosmetics
The Beauty and Health of your Skin
Here, at True You Cosmetics, we promote beauty and health. Developing healthy habits is important to your skin’s beauty and health. First, you should evaluate your current daily skin care routine. Do you properly cleanse your skin and remove all traces of makeup at night? Do you drink plenty of water, providing your skin with vital moisture from the inside? When you're out in the sun, do you wear sunscreen? Even though you won't see immediate results, these little steps will make a big difference over time!
Beauty TIPS
Choose a pencil and powder. If you have a fair complexion try using blonde shades, if you have an olive complexion you can try using brown shades, and if you have a dark brown complexion, you should try using gray shades. For added fullness, dust eye shadow into the hairs of the brow with a stiff, slanted brush. Dip the brush into a tiny amount of powder and apply short, gentle strokes.

Beauty TIPS
BEAUTY TIP: Powder
Keep your powder application light by using loose powder and a big brush for application. Make sure that you buy a good powder that will sink into your skin, rather than lie on the top of your skin. Before applying powder, try blotting your foundation with a tissue, this will remove any excess oils and stop your face from being shiny.
